Honey tasting kits available for hands-on classroom learning — Rugby Schools news

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that the North Dakota Department of Agriculture will make Honey Tasting Educational Kits available for classrooms. “We encourage teachers to bring this interactive STEM kit to their classrooms to give students a hands-on taste of North Dakota agriculture,” Goehring said Teachers of 4th, 5th, or 6th Grade classrooms interested in receiving Honey Tasting Educational Kits may go to the Ag in the Classroom Program and Events page for full details and to fill out an application. Kits are on a first-come-first-serve basis while supplies last. Applications will be accepted until November 30th. North Dakota is the No. 1 honey-producing state in the nation. In 2023, North Dakota bees produced 38.3 million pounds of honey valued at over $67.8 million. This opportunity was made possible by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Agriculture Marketing Service (USDA-AMS) Specialty Crop Block Grant Program – Farm Bill Activities. Source: NDD
